When Is Enough Enough For You?

Have You Had Enough?

I’ll be honest with you, I am so tired of the pandemic. In the beginning it was hard making the adjustment. And then I allowed it to get the best of me. I wasn’t following my daily routines. I had fits and and starts when it came to getting up early. And I often slept in late. I became unproductive. Little did I know I was struggling with some internal “demons” of fear, doubt, and anxiety about my life and where I am as opposed to where I want to be and where I think I should be? I often asked myself, Am I being a great father to my children? Am I a great husband to my wife? Am I being the best pastor to my church and community that I can be? And what in the world am I going to do with this never ending dream and passion for of entrepreneurship that God has given me and how do I reconcile that with being a pastor?

And then it hit me. One morning while I was spending time with God, I came across a verse in the word that said,

“You have made your way around this mountain long enough; now turn north.”

God’s people had been in a place for 38 years that He never intended them to be that long. It’s like they were stuck going in circles around the same mountain. Have you ever felt that way?

I felt the same way about myself. I’ve been going around the mountain of fear, the mountain of doubt, the mountain of inconsistency, the mountain of distraction long enough.

Enough is enough!

It’s time to make a turn (a change) and it’s time to turn north!

Turning north for me is turning up with God! Seeking Him with all I got. I love the way David put it when he said go hard after God (Psalm 63:8).

That morning I recommitted myself to giving God my very best!

And renewing that commitment also meant renewing another commitment.

Decision #2—I recommitted myself to giving YOU my best in 2021.

I know that I was put on this earth to serve people, to make a difference. To be even more specific, I was put here to empower people, especially young men and athletes, to live FIRED UP and change the world for good! One of the ways I plan to do that this year is through the FREE Virtual Young Men On Fire Conference.

To carryout my mission effectively I have to be my best self every single day. My best writing, my best speaking, my best listening, my best creativity, my best thoughts, and my best energy.

These commitments got me excited about 2021 unlike I have been about any other year before.

Don’t Just Live, Live Fired Up!

✌🏾,

Taurus

Ok, now it’s your turn.

What commitments or recommitments are you making this year?
